Spotted above downtown Washington, DC at 6:30 PM EST
While enjoying a smoke on my rooftop, I like to keep an eye on the skies over DC since I have an excellent vantage point. I’ve become familiar with the specific flight paths of planes and helicopters in the area. However, tonight, I noticed something unusual that wasn’t stationary, and it really caught my attention. It appeared quite high up, and although it seemed distant to the naked eye, I captured a video that reveals it accelerated and then decelerated significantly on two different occasions. I’m curious to hear what you all think about this sighting.
Time: February 26th, 6:30 PM EST
Location: Above Washington, DC, initially viewed slightly east of the city as the object moved toward the north/northeast.

Given the location in DC, it’s possible it could have been a drone or some kind of military aircraft, as there are often testing and training exercises in the area. However, the sudden changes in speed you observed make me wonder if it could have been something else entirely. Have you had a chance to compare your sighting with any reported activities in the area around that time? It might help to look into any known flights or military operations that were taking place.
