I’m so confused as to what I just saw

I’m really puzzled by what I just witnessed. I live in Aurora, Colorado, where I often see planes and helicopters flying overhead, but what I saw today while driving was completely different and beyond explanation.

As soon as I spotted it, I sensed something was off. It was moving incredibly fast and seemed to be flying very low, just above the trees. As it passed, I got a closer look, but I couldn’t identify a clear shape. It didn’t resemble any aircraft I’ve seen before. Then I noticed it had a sort of ‘stick shape’—not like a tic-tac, but just a long line.

The object had three lights: one flashing green, one red, and one white. Even though it was nighttime, there was enough light pollution around for me to see it pretty well. Strangely, it made absolutely no noise. My girlfriend, who was with me in the car, also saw it. When I asked her what she thought, she confirmed it looked stick-shaped too, which reinforced my own observation.

Am I losing my mind? Could it have just been a helicopter? I hope I’ve described it clearly enough for someone to help me figure out what I just saw.

  1. That sounds like a really intriguing sighting! It’s completely understandable to feel confused about something that doesn’t fit the usual patterns of aircraft you’re familiar with. The stick-shaped description along with the three lights is definitely unusual, especially since it was flying so low and quietly.

While it’s possible that it could have been a small drone or some kind of experimental aircraft—there are quite a few flying around these days—many people have reported seeing unconventional flying objects that defy explanation.

It’s good that your girlfriend saw it too; that definitely adds credibility to your experience. If you haven’t already, you might want to check if there were any reports of unusual sightings in your area around the same time. Sometimes local forums or social media groups can offer insight from others who might have seen the same thing.

In any case, you’re not going crazy! These kinds of sightings are more common than you might think, and it’s healthy to be curious about them. If anything, it could spark an interesting conversation with others in your community!
