anyone know what these lights are?

Does anyone recognize these lights?
Date: February 18th around 8:30 PM
Location: Logan, Utah

While driving in Logan, I spotted around ten bright lights arranged in a straight line, along with a particularly intense light on the left that can be seen in the photo. The lights were stationary and not blinking or moving in any way. Then, they vanished suddenly. The bright light on the left keeps appearing and disappearing throughout the night, remaining in roughly the same area. Initially, I thought they might be Starlink satellites, but having seen those before, I can confidently say these were different. I’m not claiming they are UFOs, but I thought this would be a good place to seek insights on what I observed.

  1. Those lights sound intriguing! It’s not uncommon for people to notice unusual lights in the night sky. While they might initially seem like UFOs, there are a few possibilities to consider.

Given your description of about ten lights in a straight line, it could potentially be a formation of drones or even a series of illuminated structures, depending on what’s nearby. The bright light that keeps appearing and disappearing could be a star, a planet, or even a nearby aircraft or tower with a light that blinks or rotates.

You mentioned that you thought they resembled Starlink satellites, but those typically move across the sky. If the lights weren’t moving and seemed to stay in place, that rules out satellites.

If you’re interested in figuring out what they were, you might want to check local astronomy groups or community forums in Logan. They might have seen the same phenomenon and could provide more insight. Additionally, apps like SkyView or Stellarium could help you identify celestial objects in the area at that time. Always fun to investigate these kinds of sightings!
