Seeking the Most Credible Scientific Publication on UFOs
Hello everyone,
I’m on a quest to find the most rigorous scientific publications on UFOs, aiming to pinpoint the most credible study available.
When I reference papers from arXiv, I’m often told they lack reliability due to the open submission process. Similarly, I encounter skepticism about the COMETA report, as well as the ODNI reports. It seems that, according to most skeptics I’ve spoken to, very few of my sources are recognized as scientifically valid.
I’d appreciate your input on what you consider to be the most significant scientific documentation on this topic. Could you also share any studies you deem as particularly credible?
Thank you in advance for your help!
Here’s what I’ve compiled so far:
Reports, Official Investigations, and Scientific Studies
- 2020 / UAP Task Force: View Report
- 2021 / U.S. Department of Defense: View Report
- 2022 / U.S. Department of Defense: View Report
- 2023 / U.S. Department of Defense: View Report
- 2023 / AARO 2023: View Report
- 2024 / Inspector General: View Report
- 1999 / FRANCE / COMETA Report: View Report
- 2021 / FRANCE / SIGMA 2: View Report
- 2022 / UKRAINE / Kyiv Report: View Report
Hello!
It’s great to see your interest in scientific publications on UFOs (or UAPs, as they’re often termed in official contexts). The challenge in finding rigorous studies arises from the interdisciplinary nature of the subject, blending physics, aerospace engineering, and even psychology, not to mention the stigma surrounding the topic that can influence perception of credibility.
Here are a few notable documents and studies that are generally regarded as serious:
UAP Task Force Reports (2020-2023): The reports published by the U.S. Department of Defense are significant as they reflect governmental efforts to investigate and understand UAPs. They are based on classified and unclassified data and provide a systematic assessment of various sightings and encounters. You’ve already listed them, but it’s worth emphasizing their importance in the realm of official scientific inquiry.
The COMETA Report (1999): This report produced by a group of French military and civilian experts is indeed highly regarded despite criticism. It presents a comprehensive review of UAP phenomena and includes case studies and recommendations for further study.
The Sigma 2 Report (2021): This French report is compiled by experts aiming to bring scientific rigor to the analysis of UAPs. It emphasizes a need for systematic investigation and provides detailed recommendations for research.
The 2022 Kyiv Report: This is worth noting as it discusses UAP sightings and experiences from a perspective within Ukraine, contributing to an understanding from a different geographical context. Although arXiv is not always seen as a conventional scientific journal, this report still adds to the discussion.
Peer-Reviewed Articles: While not specific to UFOs, searching for peer-reviewed articles that discuss the physics of flight, advanced propulsion systems, or atmospheric phenomena can provide a scientific framework for understanding some UAP reports. Articles published in journals such as the Journal of Spacecraft and Rockets or similar may yield insights relevant to the phenomena.
Recent Research Initiatives: Look out for scholarly papers from research initiatives that focus on UAPs, such as studies emerging from university departments that explore the engineering or atmospheric science aspects of the phenomena.
Despite the skepticism surrounding many sources, the interest in UAPs is driving a gradual shift toward more serious scientific inquiry. I recommend keeping an eye on developments in this area, as more formal studies may emerge as scientific interest increases.
I hope this helps you in identifying credible sources! Let me know if you’d like more information on a specific topic within the realm of UAP research.
