In recent times, a recurring question has emerged within our community: How many members are here because of personal encounters with phenomena that challenge conventional understanding? This curiosity prompts us to reflect on the prevalence of experiences that defy logical explanation—moments that have significantly altered one’s perception of reality and our comprehension of the world around us.

Throughout my 45 years, I have encountered three distinct experiences that remain inexplicable despite careful consideration and reflection. Two of these occurred during my adolescence in the Black Hills of South Dakota, and a third took place at Fort Kickass on Mount Jefferson approximately a decade ago. Each event was witnessed by multiple individuals, lending credibility and weight to their significance.

Beyond the realm of unidentified flying objects, I have also experienced prolonged periods of intense poltergeist activity within a residence I inhabited for several years. These experiences leave me open to a wide spectrum of possibilities—suggesting that there are phenomena outside the scope of our common experience that resist rational explanation.

My intention in sharing these anecdotes is not to promote superstition but to foster genuine discussion and understanding. I appreciate skepticism and critical thinking; such perspectives help ensure we approach these topics with integrity. However, I also recognize that this community can sometimes become hostile toward alternative viewpoints. Trust within this dialogue must be earned, and it is essential to distinguish between genuine inquiry and disinformation.
