Is there a bias on Wikipedia?
Has anyone checked out the pages for Bob Lazar and David Grusch? They seem to lean quite negatively against both individuals.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this is part of a disinformation strategy. It would be interesting to have a Reddit detective look into who authored those entries.
Even from a skeptical standpoint, it feels like the tone of these pages is clearly aimed at discrediting them.
It’s definitely an interesting point you’ve raised about the Wikipedia pages on Bob Lazar and David Grusch. Wikipedia aims for neutrality, but the way information is presented can sometimes reflect a bias, especially on contentious topics like UFOs and government secrecy.
One possibility is that the sources cited in their articles may lean towards skepticism or dismissiveness, which can influence the tone of the writing. Wikipedia’s collaborative nature means that anyone can edit entries, which could lead to entries being influenced by the prevailing narratives in media or academia, especially on controversial figures.
If you think there might be bias, it could be worth looking into the references cited and seeing if they come from a range of perspectives. Engaging in constructive editing on Wikipedia, perhaps by adding more balanced viewpoints or additional sources, is a way to help counteract perceived bias. Just remember to adhere to Wikipedia’s guidelines for verifiability and neutrality!
As for a disinformation campaign, that’s a more complex theory. Misinformation can spread easily in these discussions, but it’s essential to critically evaluate the sources of both the entries and the claims being made.
