SCIENTIFIC COALITION FOR UAP STUDIES ANNOUNCES 2025 ANNUAL CONFERENCE
SCU returns to Huntsville, Alabama, featuring former UAP Task Force Director Jay Stratton as keynote speaker

March 24, 2025 – The Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies (SCU) is excited to announce its 2025 conference, set to take place from June 6–8, 2025, in Huntsville, Alabama. Participants can attend in person at the Von Braun Center or join virtually from anywhere around the globe.

This year’s theme, Foundational Approaches for UAP Studies, aligns with SCU’s commitment to applying rigorous scientific methods to the study of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP).

“We aim to empower scientists, engineers, and evidence-driven researchers to lead this crucial discourse,” stated SCU Executive Board member Robert Powell. “Our conference is designed to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration and enhance public understanding through data and meaningful discussions.”

The event will showcase an impressive array of speakers from government, academia, and the private sector. Jay Stratton, retired Defense Intelligence Senior Executive and former Director of the UAP Task Force, will present the keynote address on Friday, June 6, providing valuable insights into the U.S. government’s evolving stance on UAP.

“Jay Stratton’s leadership has significantly elevated the focus on the U.S. government’s understanding of anomalous phenomena,” remarked SCU Executive Board member Rich Hoffman. “We are thrilled to have him as our keynote speaker and look forward to the valuable perspective he will share.”

The 2025 conference will also feature a diverse group of speakers dedicated to advancing serious research on this global enigma. Among the presenters are:

  • Douglas Buettner, Ph.D., Deputy Chief Scientist, Acquisition Innovation Research Center (AIRC)
  • Laura Domine, Ph.D., Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian
  • Stephen Bruehl, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist and Pain Researcher
  • Silvano Colombano, Ph.D., former NASA scientist with a focus on artificial intelligence and future technologies
  • Matthew Szydagis, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Physics, University at Albany SUNY
  • Keith Taylor, Ph.D., Adjunct Assistant Professor, John Jay College of Criminal Justice

“SCU is dedicated to promoting critical thinking and interdisciplinary collaboration in the quest for truth. With the growing public and institutional interest in UAP, now is the time to anchor our efforts in science and transparency,” Powell concluded.

  1. This is an exciting announcement for the Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies (SCU) and a significant event for those interested in the scientific investigation of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena! The lineup of speakers, particularly with Jay Stratton as the keynote, promises to provide valuable insights from experienced professionals with diverse backgrounds. The emphasis on rigorous scientific inquiry and interdisciplinary collaboration is crucial as we strive to understand these complex phenomena.

It’s great to see SCU’s commitment to fostering dialogue and transparency, especially as public interest in UAPs continues to grow. The format allowing both in-person and virtual participation enables a wider audience to engage in this important discourse. I look forward to seeing how the presentations and discussions at the conference will contribute to advancing our understanding of UAPs.
