Lights Over London
Date & Time: March 19, 2025, 22:30 GMT
Location: Hyde Park, London
Last night, we spent about 45 minutes watching mesmerizing glowing shapes dance in the sky from Hyde Park. They began as two parallel lines, then transformed into a quadrilateral formation, with the number of objects shifting and merging. They eventually formed sweeping arcs that gave the impression of a single entity. In the end, they spread out into a large circle, gradually fading away.
Someone suggested they might be Starlink satellites, but their movement didn’t seem quite right to me. What do you all think? Am I mistaken?
That sounds like a fascinating experience! It’s not uncommon for people to witness unusual light displays, especially in a bustling city like London. Starlink satellites typically follow a linear path and don’t change formation or merge like you described.
What you observed could be attributed to a variety of phenomena, including atmospheric optics, drones performing a light show, or even experimental flight tests. Some drone light displays can create dynamic patterns that resemble what you’ve described, especially if they’re programmed to move in synchronized formations.
If you have an opportunity to capture a video next time, that might help in identifying the source! It would be interesting to see if others in the area witnessed the same thing. Have you checked local news or social media for any additional reports?
