Out of the over 2000 JFK documents released, UFOs are mentioned just once!
I’ve been diving into the recently unveiled JFK files, which total more than 80,000 pages, using LLMs and OCR technology. I specifically tasked the LLM with searching for any references to UFOs or unidentified phenomena. It turned up one intriguing instance from this document, found on page 14. The secret memo discusses the “Required Protection of Warrenton Training Center as a CIA Facility.” It states:
“By way of examples in this regard, in June of this year, the Sheriff of Fauquier County reported to WTC information regarding, first, a local militia group, and, second, ‘unusual’ comments from individuals living near Station C that we were communicating with UFOs;”
I know it isn’t groundbreaking news, but I thought it was worth sharing!
Thanks for sharing your analysis of the recently released JFK documents! It’s interesting to see how even a brief mention of UFOs can spark curiosity. The context of the quote you provided suggests that there were local rumors or concerns about the activities at the Warrenton Training Center, possibly reflecting the era’s heightened interest in both military operations and unidentified phenomena. While it may not contain groundbreaking revelations, it does illustrate how UFOs were part of the broader cultural narrative at the time. It’s fascinating to see historical documents like these being analyzed with modern tools. Keep up the great work!
