Starlink through a cloud? Is this possible?

Is it possible to see Starlink satellites through a cloud?

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the discussion earlier today! Some of you suggested that what I’m observing could be Starlink satellites. I entertained that idea until just now, when I spotted one shining brighter than anything else in the sky, even through a thick cloud. It’s fascinating to see how it reflects off the sea while nestled deep within the cloud. From my viewpoint, it really seems like it’s just on the other side of the cloud. Let’s get to the bottom of this!

  1. It’s definitely intriguing to see something like that! Starlink satellites are typically quite bright, especially when they catch sunlight at certain angles. However, they do pass through clouds and can sometimes be visible through them, although the visibility can be diminished due to the cloud’s thickness.

What you might be seeing could also be a reflection or refraction of light, possibly from the clouds themselves or even other sources like a nearby bright object or aircraft. If it seemed unusually bright and close, it might warrant further investigation.

Are there any other unique features you noticed about the object? Maybe if others in the area saw the same thing, they could provide more clarity. Let’s keep digging into this!
