On February 22nd, we’re thrilled to present another collaborative AMA across multiple subreddits focused on UAP and Experiencers, hosted by Leslie Kean alongside guests Karin Austin, the Executive Director of the John Mack Institute, and Dr. Peter Skafish, an anthropologist and co-founder of the Sol Foundation.

Building on the success of our previous livestream AMA events with James Fox, Kirk McConnell, Lenval Logan (link), and Leslie Kean, Hal Puthoff, Garry Nolan, Jim Segala (link), moderators from r/aliens, r/Experiencers, r/HighStrangeness, r/UFOB, and r/UFOs are coming together for a third AMA that dives into the anthropological and sociological dimensions of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) and the Experiences Phenomenon.

About the AMA

This session will explore the nature of experiencer phenomena and their implications for individuals and society. Leslie Kean will lead discussions on Karin Austin’s work with the late John Mack, her role as Executive Director of the John Mack Institute, and the upcoming inclusion of his work in Rice University’s Archives of the Impossible. Dr. Skafish will share insights about his role as co-founder and current Executive Director of the Sol Foundation and related projects involving Experiencers and UFO/UAP witnesses. This is a unique opportunity to delve into the historical and global contexts of experiencer reports, their connections to spirits, fae, and gods, and to examine whether these phenomena reflect a continuum of contact throughout human history. We’ll address the challenges of legitimizing experiencer studies, discuss how academia can engage with the topic without stigma, and consider the ethical implications of working with individuals who have had transformative encounters.

The live AMA is scheduled for Saturday, February 22nd, 2025, at 1 PM PST / 4 PM EST, featuring journalist and author Leslie Kean, alongside scientists and researchers Dr. Peter Skafish and Karin Austin. This collaborative event will be livestreamed across platforms including YouTube and Twitter/X. For updates, follow us on Instagram and BlueSky.
