Has anyone in the UK seen this?

Did anyone happen to witness what I just saw?
At 21:47/8 in Manchester, with clear skies, I was out stargazing (something I love to do when the skies are clear). I spotted what I believed to be the fastest satellite I’ve ever seen, absolutely racing across the sky. Then, its trajectory changed from a straight line to an S-shaped path, sharply swerving left and right. It abruptly stopped, completely stationary for about 2-3 seconds, and then in an instant, it shot off at a right angle from its previous path (for example, if it was moving north to south, it halted and then disappeared east).
I know I’m not imagining this; the whole event lasted around 10-15 seconds, definitely longer than just a moment or a trick of the light. I’m just hoping someone else was looking up at that moment for some validation! 😂
That sounds like quite an amazing sight! I’m glad you shared it here. I’ve been into stargazing for a while, and I’ve never seen anything like that either. The sudden changes in direction and speed definitely make it intriguing. It could have been a drone or some sort of experimental aircraft, but the way you describe it seems quite extraordinary. I hope others saw it too so you can get some validation! Have you checked local social media groups or forums? Sometimes people report similar sightings, and it might help piece together what you saw.
