The series of lights actually extended even higher than what my phone camera could capture while I was in the car. As I drove slowly, the lights at the bottom stopped appearing while the last few kept coming from the top.
Interestingly, several dogs I passed were barking enthusiastically at the edge of their lawns. I frequently drive down this street and have never seen them act like that before.
