On December 22, 2024, in Tampa, Florida, I experienced an unusual sighting that continues to puzzle me. Between 1 and 3 PM (though I cannot recall the precise time), I observed a strange aerial object hovering over a nearby lake in my backyard. This event has left me searching for answers and seeking community insight into what I witnessed.

The Encounter

The object appeared to be some sort of drone or robotic device. Its most distinctive features included a white, oblong head and a robotic-looking body that seemed to terminate at approximately knee level. It floated steadily in a southwest direction across my field of view. The absence of any obvious nose or facial features was notable, and I faintly recall hearing a faint whirring noise—though my memory isn’t entirely clear on that detail.

At the time, I had been following drone activity closely and was aware of the broader discussion surrounding unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP). I wasn’t especially interested in the “NHI” (non-human intelligence) theories, and I didn’t hold any preconceptions about what I might be seeing—simply, I saw something that didn’t quite align with ordinary drone activity.

A Moment of Confusion

Initially, I thought I might be hallucinating due to the bizarre appearance of the object. I looked away for a moment and then looked back—only to see a white pelican flying in the same direction. This coincidence made me question my perception. I have no history of visual hallucinations, which adds to the mystery of what I experienced.

I took screenshots and attempted reverse image searches, but to no avail. The original Reddit post appears to be gone or possibly lost from my archived history, leaving me without direct contact with the original poster.

Fortunately, I had recorded the video, which confirms my account. I am reaching out to the community for insights or similar experiences. While I understand I can’t definitively prove what I saw, sharing my story is important to me. If the video had been AI-generated or a hoax, I would have dismissed it outright; but given that this aligns precisely with my own observation, I find the account compelling.
