THE PHOENIX LIGHTS 28th Anniversary, My Sighting March 13, 1997

Celebrating the 28th Anniversary of the Phoenix Lights: My Experience from March 13, 1997
Time: 8:30 PM, March 13, 1997
Location: Arizona

As a Hospice RN—still practicing—I was returning home to Phoenix after a shift at a 10-bed inpatient unit in Mesa, AZ. Driving on the I-60 near Tempe, I encountered construction that forced me to exit and re-enter the freeway multiple times. At one such exit, I found myself alongside a mound of construction debris, parallel to a tall streetlight.

As I looked out my windshield, I spotted a boomerang-shaped craft with something resembling molten fire trailing from it. I parked my truck with the headlights on full brightness and stepped out. Approaching the front of my vehicle, I observed a glowing substance that resembled lava—orange in color, dripping down and forming yellow streaks before retracting back toward the craft. The glow illuminated my surroundings, casting an orange hue on my body, the ground, and my truck as the craft glided overhead.

The tip of the left wing was directly above me, requiring me to look straight up to get a glimpse of it. The bottom of the craft was visible, rounded both horizontally and vertically, and I could see it from an angle that made me feel I could almost touch it. I stood on a slight incline with the craft hovering so low that I wondered about the sound it might make, surrounded by rocks from the construction site—not that I dared to throw one.

With the bright streetlight and my headlights illuminating the craft, I could clearly see the gun-metal grey bottom, which had a reflective quality of around 20%. The surface appeared seamless and metallic, adorned with thousands of oval-shaped indentations approximately 5 to 6 feet apart, resembling the bowl of a spoon. Intriguingly, shadows danced in the indentations as the craft moved, blending the light and dark from the streetlight and my truck’s beams.

To my surprise, there was no sound, wind, or unpleasant odors disturbing the air. Despite the glowing substance that looked potentially dangerous, I felt no heat or discomfort. As an RN, I later inspected myself for any adverse effects—my skin was unharmed, my hair intact, and my eyes unaffected.

As the craft moved away, trailing colorful glowing mists that sparkled like flags, I experienced a sudden shift in my perception—a gentle click in my mind, as if something had adjusted. This moment brought an overwhelming sense of love and connection, as if celestial friends had come to remind me of my value. Tears came from the profound joy and gratitude I felt, and I stood there for about 10 minutes, whispering “thank you” to the craft as it drifted southward into Chandler, AZ. This feeling of appreciation has stayed with me since that night, becoming a part of my everyday life. I often find myself smiling for no apparent reason, and those who know me have noted a positive change in my demeanor.

My experience was not limited to sight alone; what I felt that night changed my life. I now feel a sense of kindness and patience that enhances my role as a Hospice RN. Previously, I would lose my temper in traffic, but since that night, I’ve become more forgiving and calm.

I continue to ponder that incredible craft and the vibrant mist it left behind, recalling it often. This experience has been entirely positive for me. I’ve also spoken to other witnesses who have reported their encounters, including one who described seeing a swirling substance above him, reminiscent of cotton candy.

Here’s my segment from UFO Witness. Note that the indentations weren’t accurately portrayed, though the orange glow of the actor is somewhat close to what I observed:
