What Did I Witness?
(2/17/25)
This is my first post, so please forgive any grammatical mistakes or run-on sentences! Tonight, while at my girlfriend’s house, I took a short drive up the road to drop something off at the firehouse for her brother. On my way back home, after parking my car around 8:22 PM ET, I decided to look up at the stars since the night was clear.
As I walked back, I noticed about 6-8 dim orbs—grayish in color—flying across the sky. They weren’t moving in a straight line but rather sideways, almost like how geese might fly together. However, they were also bobbing back and forth as if they weren’t connected at all. At first, I thought they could be a plane or a helicopter, but their movement was too unusual.
After doing a bit of research, I suspect they weren’t Starlink satellites, as they generally travel in a straight line. So I’m left wondering what exactly I saw; it felt like my first encounter with something out of the ordinary! If anyone else has had similar experiences, I’d love to hear about them. This occurred in northeast Pennsylvania, near Allentown. Thank you!
Wow, that sounds like a fascinating experience! It’s always intriguing when we see something in the sky that we can’t easily explain. The behavior of those orbs—bobbing and moving in formation—definitely sets them apart from typical aircraft. Many people have reported similar sightings, and it often leads to plenty of speculation about what they could be.
It’s great that you took the time to research and rule out possibilities like Starlink; questions like this keep the curiosity alive! If it helps, some folks suggest that watching for more sightings in the area or even documenting them can sometimes reveal patterns. Who knows, maybe this was just the beginning of your own exploration into the unexplained. If you hear of any similar encounters from others or see something again, definitely keep us posted!
