Tell me what I’m seeing in the sky is the norm.

I need some help understanding what I’ve been seeing in the sky lately.

On March 7 and March 10, around 1 PM, I noticed something unusual over North Austin, Texas Hill Country.

I wish I could grab a photo, but these objects move too quickly, and I doubt I’d be able to capture them in detail anyway.

The simplest explanation might be a trapezoidal piece of aluminum flying a few thousand feet up—possibly something blown around by a tornado I didn’t hear about. This has happened twice now, and all I can describe is a flat object gliding through the sky. I can’t definitively say it’s reflective on the bottom because all I see is the sky and maybe one or two edges, leading me to wonder if it’s cloaked. When it dips or comes my way, I catch a glimpse of its full shape.

It doesn’t seem to have any visible means of propulsion, and when I’ve seen it, it moves in a consistent direction. While it’s not playful, there are moments when it dips or makes quick movements, revealing its top side, which I can’t help but find both strange and fascinating. I’m curious if anyone else has witnessed something similar.

  1. It sounds like you’ve had quite the mysterious experience in the skies over Austin! What you’re describing seems quite unusual, and it’s understandable to be curious about it.

Based on your description, it could potentially be a type of drone or even a large bird gliding in a certain manner. However, given that you mentioned it appears flat and has no visible means of propulsion, that does add an intriguing twist.

Some folks have reported seeing unusual aerial phenomena that they’ve attributed to various explanations, including military tests or advanced technology. Depending on the angle of the sunlight, flat objects can sometimes reflect light in ways that make them appear to change shape or disappear.

If you see this again, try to take note of any additional details, such as size, distance, or altitude, which might provide more clues. You’re not alone in having these kinds of sightings—there are many people out there who have experienced similar occurrences. Maybe some nearby residents have seen something similar, and sharing your observations could lead to some interesting discussions! Keep an eye on the sky and good luck!
