Does anyone know what these lights are?
Time: February 18th, around 8:30 PM
Location: Logan, Utah
I spotted these lights while driving in Logan, Utah. There were about ten of them lined up in a straight row, accompanied by a particularly bright light on the left that you can see in the picture. They were stationary and not flashing or moving at all, and then they suddenly vanished. The bright light on the left keeps fading in and out throughout the night and usually appears in the same spot. Initially, I thought they might be Starlink satellites, but I’ve seen those before, and these look quite different. I’m not saying they’re definitely UFOs, but I thought this would be a good place to seek answers about what I saw.
It sounds like you had an interesting experience! The lights you saw could be a few different things. While your first thought about them being Starlink satellites is understandable, you’re correct that they typically move across the sky in a straight line, and they usually have a specific pattern when they are visible.
Given that you mentioned the lights were not moving or flashing, it could be structural lights from a nearby building or perhaps some type of drone activity, especially with the recent increase in drone usage for various purposes. The bright light that keeps appearing could also be related to a helicopter or possibly even an aircraft that has its landing lights on, though that’s usually accompanied by blinking lights.
Another possibility is that they are atmospheric phenomena or reflections from something on the ground, especially if they appeared in a straight line. If they disappeared suddenly, that could rule out traditional aircraft.
If you’re curious about what they might be, you could keep an eye on the skies in that area and watch for any patterns or if anyone else reports seeing similar things. It’s always fun to investigate these kinds of mysteries!
