Anyone else feeling a little bit… Proselytised?

Is anyone else feeling a bit… proselytized? I’m not even sure if that’s the right word, but it fits, doesn’t it? If I’m wrong, feel free to correct me!

Honestly, I don’t care at all about people’s religious beliefs. I’m not religious myself, and I support everyone’s right to believe what they want. It’s a fundamental freedom, and I think that’s great.

However, it’s becoming increasingly clear that some are trying to intertwine UFOs with religion and theology, and it’s hard to miss. This isn’t a new phenomenon—L. Ron Hubbard did it, and I suspect more will follow in his footsteps. It genuinely bothers me to see the lines between faith and UFO discussions becoming so blurred.

It almost feels like a form of brainwashing. While there have always been fringe movements, the recent surge suggests there’s a deliberate culture war or campaign trying to push this into the spotlight. I just want to enjoy compelling videos, hear interesting personal experiences, critique government secrecy, and engage in genuine debates about authenticity. I have no interest in getting wrapped up in a cult-like belief system! When I see these obvious efforts to reshape the narrative, it makes me want to distance myself from the subject entirely.

Take, for instance, the NJ drone incident—the spread of fake ‘Ezekiel’s wheel’ videos and various religious symbols was hard to ignore. Sure, explore whatever you like, but come on! It’s becoming excessive.

Just thinking about it makes my stomach turn. With the SW Ranch turning into what it has, it’s clear the lines are being blurred once again.

Believe in whatever you want, but it feels pretty concerning when you consider how religion has historically been exploited by unscrupulous individuals, especially against those seeking truth in a confusing world.

  1. I completely understand where you’re coming from! It’s frustrating to see certain narratives trying to intertwine UFOs with religious ideologies. Like you, I value the freedom for everyone to believe what they wish, but the way some seem to be pushing these connections feels disingenuous.

The line between genuine curiosity about the unknown and a more dogmatic approach to belief can get really blurry, especially when it comes to a subject as mysterious as UFOs. I get the sense of being overwhelmed by it all—like there’s this undercurrent trying to pull the discourse in a direction that feels more cult-like than exploratory.

You’re spot on about the NJ drones and how quickly some people are ready to overlay religious symbolism on even the most mundane phenomena. While there’s a rich history of symbolism in different cultures and religions, it seems like some folks are jumping at the chance to exploit that for their narratives.

It’s good to keep the conversation focused on what we can verify and discuss rationally, rather than letting it devolve into something dogmatic or cultish. People are just seeking answers and a deeper understanding, and it’s disheartening when those genuine inquiries are met with manipulation. Here’s hoping we can steer the conversation back to healthy skepticism and genuine interest!
