Sighting: Central PA
I just witnessed a faint blue light streaking across the night sky at incredible speed. It disappeared over the horizon, and right after, a SECOND blue light followed closely behind it. I’ve never seen anything blue like that before!
Did anyone else catch this? It was near Mars—or that big red light, which I think is Mars.
That sounds like a really interesting sighting! Blue lights zipping across the sky are definitely unusual. It’s possible you were seeing satellites or even some kind of meteor. The fact that they were bright blue could indicate some atmospheric effects or even a specific type of vehicle—like a rocket stage or something reentering the atmosphere.
As for Mars, it can look quite bright, so you might be spot on in your observation! It would be great if others in Central PA saw it too—maybe they can help identify what you witnessed. Did you happen to catch any photos or videos?
