Beneath the moon (positioned mid-high in the west), I spotted a series of three dim lights arranged in a straight line. <\/p>\n<p>Suddenly, this object swooped down and accelerated north at an incredible speed. In less than 1.5 seconds, it executed a sharp 270\u00b0 turn before shooting straight up into the sky at a nearly vertical angle, vanishing into the night.<\/p>\n<p>As I screamed, &#8220;WHAT THE HECK IS THAT?&#8221; into the phone, I quickly dismissed several explanations. I wondered if it might be a jet, but the night was eerily silent, and I could distinctly hear distant aircraft. A drone? No way\u2014it couldn\u2019t make those kinds of maneuvers.<\/p>\n<p>When it made that astonishing turn, I even considered if it could be some reflection off a bird. But then it rocketed upward, and all doubt faded. I was left in utter disbelief\u2014there&#8217;s nothing ordinary that could account for this.<\/p>\n<p>I lingered outside for another 40 minutes hoping to see something else, but there was no resolution. What I witnessed was unmistakably extraordinary.
