Potential Sighting of the “Van Meter Visitor”<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have to admit, I\u2019m usually skeptical about UFO sightings\u2014they often seem too far-fetched. However, after what I experienced last night, I might need to reevaluate my stance.<\/p>\n

Last night, during the blood moon, five of us were waiting outside a hotel to catch a glimpse of the moon. While two of my friends were engrossed in their phones, suddenly they looked up, yelling and claiming they saw something fly across the sky that had a ring-like shape. Being the skeptic, I dismissed their excitement, thinking they were just seeing the game\u2019s loading screen imprinted in their vision. But moments later, the rest of us, including myself, glanced up to witness a peculiar UFO gliding from behind the hotel to behind a large pine tree nearby. <\/p>\n

It resembled a boomerang draped in white fabric, moving slowly in a way that reminded me of a sheet billowing in the wind. It had a jellyfish-like quality to it, as if it were translucent enough that I could faintly make out its inner structure. I initially thought it was white, but another witness insisted it looked brown. The object was about the size of a car, and what struck us all was how completely silent it was.<\/p>\n

As panic set in among us, another friend and I caught another glimpse\u2014a brief sighting through the gaps in the pine tree branches. It seemed to linger there for a moment before it vanished, much like someone retreating when they spot you looking their way. My view was brief and blurry, so I lack a detailed description of its appearance. <\/p>\n

This didn\u2019t feel like mass hysteria because before the initial two could articulate what they saw, the rest of us witnessed the same thing. Typically, if it were purely imaginary, I would only have seen it after hearing their description, but I was unaware of its appearance before my sighting.<\/p>\n

After seeing it vanish, there were no further sightings. I started researching and found that my experience aligns closely with the accounts of the “Van Meter Visitor.” According to the lore, this is a large, bat-like creature with a bright light emanating from a horn on its head, said to have emerged from a mineshaft in Iowa. What I saw could vaguely fit that description, explaining why I perceived it as white while others thought it was brown\u2014perhaps I saw it when the light was on, reflecting off its body.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, I have no photographic evidence to support my sighting, just the accounts of four other witnesses. I feel frustrated that my experience might not be taken seriously, and people might think I\u2019m fabricating it. I won\u2019t try to convince anyone who doubts me, as I understand skepticism.
