Its frigid temperatures and harsh conditions have left the region largely untouched by human activity, allowing polar bears, foxes, seals, and various birds to thrive. For centuries, the Arctic’s stunning Northern Lights and extreme remoteness have intrigued humanity, spawning numerous myths, legends, and mysteries about lost civilizations, hidden pyramids, secret military bases, and even entrances to a hollow Earth. Among these mysteries, one of the most intriguing is the history of UFO sightings in the area, dating back to as early as 1850 and continuing into the 21st century. This video explores 25 of the most compelling and well-documented UFO encounters that have occurred in the Arctic’s icy expanse.

MYSTERY IN THE SKIES
In 1850, while searching for the elusive Franklin Expedition, a ship’s crew traveling through the Wellington Channel reported witnessing a glowing, unidentified object in the sky.

A STRANGE ENCOUNTER
In 1912, the Russian ship Saint Anna became icebound for two years in the Arctic. During this time, on November 8, 1913, the crew observed a mysterious red light that they could not attribute to any known natural phenomenon.

DISAPPEARING VILLAGE
In 1930, trapper Joe Labelle found a small village at Lake Angikuni, Canada, completely deserted. The 30 villagers had vanished, leaving food on the table and their belongings behind, leading to an enduring mystery that remains unsolved.

UNEXPECTED VISITORS
During World War II, around the early 1940s, four Navy convoy ships patrolling the Norwegian Sea encountered four large, glowing white orbs that hovered ominously above them. After several hours, these strange lights shot up into the sky and disappeared.

INSIGHT FROM PROJECT PTARMIGAN
Researcher Lt. Col. Wendelle Stevens reported that during his work with Project Ptarmigan in Alaska, he received accounts from officers who frequently saw metallic crafts performing incredible maneuvers, igniting his interest in UFOs.

COMMUNITY WITNESS
In August 1950, residents of Nizhenkolymsk observed glowing discs in the sky for three consecutive days, also seen by visiting Soviet military pilots.

CRASH ON SPITSBERGEN ISLAND
In May 1952, radar anomalies led aviators to discover a crashed metallic disc on Spitsbergen Island. Inside, they found human-like figures, but the reported event was later obscured by a government cover-up.

TRACKING AN UNIDENTIFIED CRAFT
On June 26, 1952, observers on Padloping Island launched a weather balloon and tracked a silvery craft that inexplicably appeared for five minutes.

ANOMALIES IN THE SKY
On April 29, 1952, Navy pilots near Thule, Greenland recorded three disc-shaped crafts converging on a weather balloon they were monitoring.

UNEXPLAINED LIGHTS
In February 1953, passengers aboard a WV-2 Super Constellation saw a strange glowing orange light in an area devoid of human habitation near Thule, Greenland.

THULE SIGHTINGS
On December 9, 1953, three Navy flights over Thule reported a peculiar craft moving alongside them, but investigators deemed it “probably an astronomical phenomenon.”

DARK OBJECTS IN FORMATION
On August 29, 1954, passengers on

UFOs in the Arctic: 25 Documented Encounters Watch the Video Here Written by Preston Dennett Encompassing nearly 10,000 miles in circumference and covering 7.7 million square miles, the Arctic Circle represents about four percent of the Earth’s surface and is primarily inhabited by just eight countries.
