We often discuss the logistics and protocols for making contact with aliens should they choose to reveal themselves. But what about the psychological\u2014and perhaps even physical\u2014effects of actually encountering a being from another star system or galaxy?<\/p>\n<p>I recall watching Spielberg&#8217;s film, which both terrified and captivated me. It featured a humanoid figure that wasn&#8217;t quite human, evoking something deep within the subconscious, like a dreamscape.<\/p>\n<p>Would people&#8217;s reactions differ if they were witnessing such a being in person, rather than on a screen?<\/p>\n<p>If extraterrestrial life forms aren&#8217;t carbon-based like us or rely on entirely different elements, their appearance could be utterly unfamiliar. Encountering a being like that might evoke a sense of awe, akin to witnessing a solar eclipse.<\/p>\n<p>And what if we were to actually touch such a being? Beyond the obvious risk of disease (unless they have technology to safeguard us), what other impacts could we experience?<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m also reminded of the movie <em>Arrival<\/em>, where aliens couldn\u2019t emerge from their environment, leading a group to enter a chamber for contact.
