{"id":3911,"date":"2025-03-11T16:25:42","date_gmt":"2025-03-11T16:25:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thataintnoplane.com\/index.php\/2025\/03\/11\/help-id-a-sighting-3\/"},"modified":"2025-03-11T16:25:42","modified_gmt":"2025-03-11T16:25:42","slug":"help-id-a-sighting-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thataintnoplane.com\/index.php\/2025\/03\/11\/help-id-a-sighting-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Help ID a Sighting?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Seeking Help to Identify a Sighting<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Date:<\/strong> Late February, around the 22nd, late night to early morning hours.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong> Southwestern Michigan, near Grand Rapids  <\/p>\n<p>A family member witnessed a plane or flying object and provided the following description:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Very short in proportion to its wing width   <\/li>\n<li>Emitting an intense, bright white light, but not directed along its flightpath  <\/li>\n<li>Olive green in color  <\/li>\n<li>Front lights were red and green  <\/li>\n<li>Faint white lights on the leading edges of the wings  <\/li>\n<li>Appeared to be flying at a low altitude  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I believe this may be an earthly craft, possibly of military origin. However, despite my 20 years of military experience, I can&#8217;t identify any aircraft that closely resembles this description.  <\/p>\n<p>For context, Michigan has a few Air National Guard bases, and occasional fighter jet sightings are relatively common in the northern parts of the state. While transport aircraft are also seen in the southern areas, I can&#8217;t think of one that matches this profile.  <\/p>\n<p>I apologize for the vague date and time reference.
