I\u2019m an Uber driver in Orlando, and today I picked up a gentleman from the tourist area heading to the airport. He had a British accent, but I didn’t want to assume anything. Now, he\u2019s in the U.S. Air Force. What a fascinating encounter! I kept it casual, feigning interest, but since I also spent ten years in the Army, I could hold my own in the discussion.<\/p>\n
Then I took the plunge and asked him, \u201cSo, what do you think about all the buzz regarding UAPs?\u201d He chuckled, and I could tell he was the real deal. He tried to brush it off, but I pressed further. I asked, \u201cSo, you’ve never seen anything unusual while flying?\u201d That\u2019s when he shared an intriguing experience from his deployment in Syria. He described a routine patrol with another F-18 jet at 30,000 feet when something flew toward them, moving in a way consistent with descriptions of physics-defying maneuvers and lacking traditional propulsion. He mentioned that no reports were ever filed.<\/p>\n
He also noted that any pilot with significant operational experience or deployment overseas usually has a story about odd sightings in the sky. It seems to be quite common, yet still carries a stigma. His conclusion? It\u2019s likely \u201cblack\u201d technology that hasn\u2019t been made public. He wasn\u2019t one to wholeheartedly subscribe to the “UAP” narrative, and I took that as my cue to let it go.<\/p>\n
