I&#8217;m a regular reader of the UFO subreddits and have noticed several posts where people mention experiencing sleep paralysis or similar sensations during their encounters with non-human intelligences (NHI). I\u2019ve experienced what I believed to be sleep paralysis since childhood. Several nights a week, I wake up unable to move or scream, often feeling an entity in the room with me accompanied by a humming or rushing sound. These are typical symptoms for those who experience this condition. My wife often wakes me up because she realizes I&#8217;m having an episode.<\/p>\n<p>Now, there\u2019s a unique twist to my story. The very first time I experienced this was when I was around eleven years old\u2014around 1992\u2014while trying to sleep on the couch at my family\u2019s lake house on Lake Erie. I had just finished watching an episode of <em>Unsolved Mysteries<\/em> that covered UFOs and abductions. About an hour later, I went through this terrifying episode where I couldn\u2019t move or scream, and I felt beings surrounding me. My memories of them are vague\u2014perhaps real, perhaps shaped by time\u2014but they fit the typical description of extraterrestrial entities. <\/p>\n<p>For years, I dismissed this incident as a product of my imagination, influenced by the show I had just watched and my fear during that first experience of sleep paralysis.
