This vast land, which encompasses 5.5 million square miles and holds approximately 90% of the world’s freshwater, has no permanent inhabitants. Governed by the 1951 Antarctic Treaty, which prohibits ownership and restricts activities to peaceful scientific research, the region hosts between 1,000 to 5,000 scientists and military personnel at various bases each year, while around 40,000 tourists visit annually.

Amid numerous conspiracies—ranging from secret Nazi outposts to entrances to a hollow Earth—one fact remains clear: Antarctica has a rich history of UFO sightings. In this video, we delve into twelve extraordinary cases spanning 75 years, featuring sightings, landings, and even encounters with humanoid figures. Some of these incidents stand as some of the best-documented encounters in UFO history.

1. February 23, 1948 – Chilean Base Arturo Prat
Captain Augusto Vars Orrego of the Chilean Navy reported seeing flying saucers doing aerial maneuvers during the bright Antarctic night. He claimed to have photographs as evidence, although they were never disclosed.

2. January 8, 1956 – Robertson Island
Four Chilean scientists observed two cigar-shaped metallic objects hovering above Robertson Island. Their Geiger counter indicated unusual activity during this lengthy encounter, and while they took several photographs, they too remain unreleased.

3. December 11, 1958 – McMurdo Base
AQI Roger Benson, driving a snow-tractor near McMurdo Sound Base, encountered a landed UFO and an unusual humanoid figure, prompting him to flee in alarm. A wave of sightings occurred shortly after, many detected on radar. Rear Admiral Dufek, commanding the base, stated, “I believe in UFOs.”

4. June 7, 1962 – Hallett Station
Researchers at Hallett Station spotted a bright golden disc in the sky. Although they were able to identify it as a solid object through binoculars, Project Blue Book dismissed it as a mere sighting of Jupiter.

5. July 9, 1962 – Johnston Atoll
Following a nuclear test at Johnston Atoll, which disrupted Earth’s magnetic field and damaged several satellites, a large UFO was observed in Antarctica heading towards the explosion site.

6. April 20, 1964 – McMurdo Base
A C-130 aircraft near McMurdo Station lost power during a flight, with nine UFOs appearing and seemingly sustaining the plane for several miles. The crew captured nine rolls of film during this bizarre encounter, which included an odd experience when unloading surprisingly light equipment after landing.

7. June-July 1965 – Deception Island
A series of UFO sightings swelled on Deception Island in the summer of 1965, with hundreds of trained observers reporting their experiences, backed by various scientific instruments and photographs, providing compelling evidence of UFO phenomena.

8. May 22, 1966 – Mount Gaudry
A British survey team at Mount Gaudry reported witnessing a peculiar cloud-like object projecting a beam down to the ground, displaying movements that ruled out any known aircraft or natural occurrence.

9. December 4, 1967 – Deception Island
During a volcanic eruption at Mount Deception that led to the evacuation of British and Chilean bases, a photograph captured both the eruption and what appeared to be a UFO in the vicinity.

**10.
